SDTA helps businesses access sightseers' patronage
In 2022, 28 million visitors made their way to San Diego and spent about $11 billion. The San Diego Tourism Authority, or SDTA, is helping underrepresented business owners tap into the tourism economy with their Tourism Accelerator cohort. Julie Coker is the president and CEO of the SDTA. She is proud that their Tourism Accelerator Program is one of the first programs of its kind offered by a destination marketing organization.
More food, more shops coming to expanding Liberty Public Market
With a wide variety of upscale, global food offerings, trendy retail shops and a family-friendly atmosphere, Liberty Public Market seems to have a firm foothold at Liberty Station in Point Loma. In coming months, visitors to LPM will have the freedom to choose from among even more eating places and shops. Blue Bridge Hospitality, LPM's parent company, is expanding the space by 6,000 square feet.
Kebab Craft Joins Liberty Public Market Expansion
Kebab Craft will serve up Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes, focusing on classics and keeping their menu simple. What Now San Diego spoke with Owner Shannon Salhany about the new concept. "This is our first restaurant for my husband and I. We've been planning since the beginning of 2021 and knew we wanted to bring it to Liberty Public Market. It's a great place to get our foot in the door. We saw a need to bring Middle-Eastern food there, and it was something we could contribute to. It made it a perfect fit," explains Salhany.
Cali-Mediterranean Eatery 'Kebab Craft' Opens At Liberty Public Market
Anchoring Liberty Public Market's westside expansion, Kebab Craft is the newest name to join the food hall's roster of powerhouse eateries. The fast-casual concept, centered around made-to-order Mediterranean-Middle Eastern combos, is the first proprietary venture for entrepreneurial sweethearts (Executive Chef) Paul and Shannon Salhany who, despite their young age (26 and 23 respectively), have over a decade of combined hospitality experience and endless ambition.
